First week without chemo

This week marks the first week without chemotherapy in Julia’s treatment. She had a clinic appointment to check her counts (this will be the regular routine for non-chemo weeks). Unfortunately, they don’t use her port for the blood draw, so this was a bit traumatic. The results were all good this week and her counts remain at a reasonable level.

Julia also saw Dr Mattei, her surgeon, this week for a follow-up visit. This is the first time she saw him and did not ask to “go on vacation”. Julia is healing well and we will not have to see him again until her port is removed.

Her next chemo is scheduled for March 2. As part of the treatment protocol, she will have another ultrasound and lung x-ray prior to this chemo treatment.

These two weeks are for rest and more healing.
