Surgery Update

Julia had surgery on Tuesday to remove her chemo port. It was an outpatient procedure that went without a hitch. We had to go to “the big doctor” in the city. Julia was as brave as always. She took Kevin (who has been through all the treatments) into surgery and they took one final ride on the big bed together. After the surgery was over, Dr. Nace said she came through it beautifully. He even gave Julia her port to save as a badge of courage.

Now it is time for Julia to enjoy the summer. No scans until September. Just sunny days and “being a kid” (her words, not mine).
